How does First Tee coach education work?
Registration for First Tee coach education and training will be done through the PGA of Canada website. PGA of Canada members are required to take Level 2 First Tee training (Level 1 = volunteer), before administering any First Tee – Canada programming.
- First Tee ‘Level 1’ = First Tee Volunteer Coach – This training will be embedded within PGA of Canada’s existing Community Golf Coach training.
- First Tee ‘Level 2’ = First Tee Coach – This training will be separate from PGA of Canada’s existing NCCP training but will be required to lead the program at green-grass facilities.
- First Tee ‘Level 3’ = First Tee Coach – This training will be separate from PGA of Canada’s existing NCCP training but will be required to lead all program levels.
- First Tee ‘Level 4’ = First Tee Master Coach – This training will be separate from PGA of Canada’s existing NCCP training and will allow members to facilitate training to other coaches.

I am not golf savvy, but I want to help. Are there opportunities for me to get involved?
First Tee – Québec needs more than coaches to make the program possible. First Tee relies on volunteers, sometimes year-round, to accomplish the program mission, and not all of those goals involve golf; support off the course is needed as well. Opportunities include:
- Fundraising/Events
- Operations/Administration
- Mentoring/Tutoring
- In-school Programming
By contributing their time and talent, individuals can directly make an impact in a young person’s life. To learn more about First Tee – Québec volunteer opportunities near you, click here.
